Having Lower Back Pain? 2 Treatment Options To Make The Pain Go Away

Julio Carr

Lower back pain can be debilitating especially if you do not seek the help of a health care professional.  To help you start feeling better, below are three treatment options that are available to you. Your doctor may also suggest things you can do at home to help with this pain. Keep reading for more information so you will be pain-free.

See a Chiropractor

A chiropractor is a health care professional that can treat back pain along with many other ailments. The chiropractor will use spinal manipulation to help relieve your pain. Spinal manipulation is also known as spinal manipulative therapy. During the treatment, the chiropractor moves and jolts your back joints. You may hear a cracking sound as they do this. This will relieve the pressure that is on the joints in your back, help improve nerve function, and reduce inflammation in your lower back.  The chiropractor may also massage your back during spinal manipulation.

The chiropractor will teach you many exercises that you can do at home. These exercises will strengthen your back muscles to help prevent pain in the future. If you are having pain in other areas of your body, such as in your shoulders or neck, the chiropractor can help with this pain as well.

Some chiropractors give nutritional counseling as part of their therapy. This will teach you how to eat healthy foods and help you lose weight if needed. Extra weight puts a lot of extra pressure on your back.

See a Physical Therapist

Your doctor may suggest that you see a physical therapist to help with your low back pain. The physical therapist will work with your doctor to develop the best treatment plan for you. This will allow the physical therapist to determine the best types of exercises for you to do while at their office, as well as at your home.

The physical therapist will help you with your posture while standing and sitting. They will provide you with flexibility and stretching exercises. They may use a TENS unit on your back, also known as TENS therapy. With this therapy, electrodes with sticky pads are placed on your back. Each electrode has a wire that is attached to the TENS unit device. The device is turned on and a small electrical current is sent through the wires. This stimulates your sensory nerves and reduces the pain. This is not painful, but you may have a tingling sensation during the treatment.

Your doctor may suggest other treatments that can help you with lower back pain.

Learn about the process and find out how to deal with your own emotions and how to love your family members at the end. If there is only a small amount of time left, then I want you to cherish the final moments.
